Madam C.J. Walker: Known as the first female self-made millionaire in America, Walker was an entrepreneur who created a line of hair care products and grooming tools specifically for African American women.
Annie Malone: Another pioneering entrepreneur, Malone created a line of hair care products and founded a school of cosmetology that trained many black women in the art of hair care and styling.
Sara Spencer Washington: A chemist before becoming a beauty entrepreneur, she founded the Apex News & Hair Company in 1919. The Apex empire grew to include salons, schools, and beauty products catered to the community. She was honored at the 1939 New York World's Fair as the "Most Distinguished Businesswoman".
Andre Walker: A celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur to Oprah Winfrey. He was her personal stylist for over 30 years before stepping down due to health reasons. His legacy is remarkable in the field of hair and beauty.
