Let's start with one of the most important tips for maintaining your deep wave hair bundles. And that is, we do not recommend that you brush your deep wave hair bundles with a regular bristle brush. Brushing the hair will unwound the wave pattern. Instead, use a wide-tooth comb or a detangling brush to manage and style the hair. Just like the wide-tooth comb, the detangling brush has wider bristles that will help keep the wave pattern intact.
Cowashing your hair bundles is another important task that you should not skip. It refers to the method of cleansing your hair bundles or human hair wigs with conditioner or a co-washing cleanser without the use of shampoo. For your co-wash to really work, you have to make sure you are using a moisturizing conditioner and not a protein conditioner.
Using cool water, and while the hair is still gathered into a bundle, wet the hair allowing the water to run downward through the bundles.
Next, squeeze the excess water from the bundles, and apply a generous amount of moisturizing conditioner to the hair. We often use Pantene Moisture Conditioner or a great brand by Earth Supplied. Their conditioner is very creamy and has a very nice scent.
Gently apply the conditioner in a downward motion one hair bundle at a time. Do this using your fingers to ensure that every strand is well coated with the deep conditioner.
Once you have applied the conditioner, take your wide-tooth comb and began combing through the hair starting with the ends and work your way up to the top of the hair bundle. Next, allow the conditioner to stay on the hair for at least 20 minutes. Some of our customers have told us that they put their bundles in a plastic shower cap or a plastic bag so that the conditioner can really penetrate the hair strands. You can do this as well if you want. But it’s not mandatory.
To rinse your deep wave hair, you’ll want to run cool water through the hair in a downward motion. Make sure to rinse all of the conditioner from the bundles. Then add a small amount of argan oil to the bundles and comb the hair with your wide-tooth comb. Lay the bundles on a clean dry towel until they are completely dry. We prefer to dry our bundles overnight to ensure that they are competely dry before they handled for styling.
Tip: Always rinse your bundles using cool water. This will help seal and lock in moisture to the hair. And make sure the deep conditioner you use is rich in moisture which will be very gentle to your hair and will also keep your cuticles moisturized.
Dying And Bleaching Your Virgin Deep Wave Bundles
All high-quality virgin deep wave hair can be bleached and dyed into any color of your choosing. Can you bleach your own hair? Yes, you can, but we do not advise it unless you are a trained professional or just really know what your doing. We do recommend going to your hairstylist for any bleaching and dying services. They will ensure that it's not only done right, but they are taking the right measures to protect your hair.
Care For Your Virgin Deep Wave Weave When Sleeping
Unless you are taking your wig off at night, you should avoid cotton pillowcases as they may ruin the natural gloss of your deep wave extensions. You can prevent this by wearing a silk scarf or using a silk pillow to protect your hair all-around. And this also applies to your natural hair as well. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes!
Night & Morning Routine Tips
A simple and stress free way to care for your hair before bed is to add two braids to your hair to keep it in place as you sleep. In the morning, simply use your fingers to remove the braids and detangle any hair strands with your detangling brush. Our suggestion is the “Epic Professional Quick Dry Hairbrush”. It has a moderate price, and it helps to detangle your hair without excessive pulling on the hair strands. You can find it on Amazon!
Defining the Wave Pattern
You can define your wave pattern every 2 or 3 days to keep your wavy curls sleek and juicy!
Start by sectioning the hair into four sections. Then using a misting spray bottle, mix water with a little leave in conditioner and wet the hair thoroughly so that it absorbs the product. One of our favorites is the Crème of Nature Pure Honey Texturizing Curl Setting Lotion. It’s light weight and it naturally hydrates the hair.
Tip: You can section the hair into big or small sections. Yet, the smaller the sections; the more defined the hair will be.
Next, take your detangling brush and starting brushing through the hair starting with the ends and work your way up. Do this to each section. Then add a styling product such as Crème of Nature Pure Honey Creamy Curl Activator to further define the hair. Continue defining the hair with your detangling brush as this will make the hair sleek and get rid of any bulk in the hair and make it a lot more manageable.
Tip: Applying to much of the curl activator may make the hair feel stiff. If this happens, apply more of your water mixture to the hair and then repeat the same steps. You could also use a gel based product if the creamy activator isn’t for you.
Take your hands and scrunch the hair up as well. This will further define your hair pattern and keep your hair looking fine and lush.
Tip: The hair will have the tendency to look frizzy if you do not put any product in the hair. So, you can use our suggestions or use another product that you like even better. Let us know what you prefer to use on your deep wave bundles.
